U.S. Army Spc. Christopher Lambert, of Milan, Ohio, assumes the push-up position while 1st Sgt. Byron Yeager, of Cove City, N.C., places gold combat spurs on his feet March 2. Lambert and Yeager are both serving with 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, Task Force Saber, near Jalalabad, Afghanistan. Gold spurs are presented to cavalry troopers serving more than 30 days in combat in a cavalry unit, a U.S. cavalry tradition dating back to the civil war.
