190606-N-XK398-1104 PATTAYA, Thailand (June 6, 2019) Navy Diver 1st Class Gregory Ellsworth, assigned to Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit (MDSU) 1, swims in waters off the coast of Pattaya, Thailand, during a joint dive exercise with divers from the Royal Thai Navy, conducted from aboard the Military Sealift Command Safeguard-class salvage ship USNS Salvor (T-ARS 52) as part of Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Thailand 2019. This year marks the 25th iteration of CARAT, a multinational exercise series designed to enhance U.S. and partner navies’ abilities to operate together in response to traditional and non-traditional maritime security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.
