FORT SHAFTER, Hawaii (June 8, 2019) -- Honolulu District Commander Lt. Col. Kathryn Sanborn (left), U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC) Commander Gen. Robert Brown, former USARPAC Commander Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Francis Wiercinski, and U.S. Army Pacific Command Sgt. Major Benjamin Jones, stand in front of the USARPAC medallion at the construction site of the new USARPAC Mission Command Facility (MCF) after placing their signatures on the back of the medallion. Wiercinski was the USARPAC commander when the MCF project broke ground in 2012. The medallion was also signed by current and former USACE-Honolulu District MCF project managers and engineers. The currently MCF is being constructed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-Honolulu District for USARPAC, consolidating USARPAC Headquarters into one facility to support Mission Command of Army or joint forces across the Asia-Pacific area of operations.
