FORT SHAFTER, Hawaii ( June 8, 2019) --Former U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC) Commander Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Francis Wiercinski signed the reverse side of the USARPAC medallion (command emblem) before it was hoisted onto the side of USARPAC’s new Mission Command Facility (MCF) on June 11. Wiercinski was the USARPAC commander when the MCF project broke ground in 2012. The medallion was also signed by U.S. Army Pacific Commander Gen. Robert Brown, U.S. Army Pacific Command Sgt. Major Benjamin Jones , Honolulu District Commander Lt. Col. Kathryn Sanborn, as well as current and former USACE-Honolulu District MCF project managers and engineers. The MCF is currently being constructed by Honolulu District for USARPAC consolidating USARPAC headquarters into one facility to support Mission Command of Army or joint forces across the Asia-Pacific area of operations.
