An armed guard patrols an area of the 22-mile Yuma sector as crews remove existing Vietnam era square frame and corrugated steel landing mats and replace it with steel bollard barrier filled with rebar and concrete, June 13. The barriers installed on this section are 30 feet above the ground. Bollards are four inches apart to allow Border Patrol to see through to the other side of the border. Each bollard extends several feet into the ground to counter digging attempts.
