NAVAL BASE SAN DIEGO (June 21, 2019) - Vice Adm. Richard Brown, commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, speaks to the crew aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) during a waterfront engagement. The visit was an opportunity to discuss the current and future status of the Surface Force in an effort to continue the shift from a culture of compliance to a culture of excellence, producing ships and Sailors ready for the high-end fight.
