(June 15, 2019) Aviation Structural Mechanic 1st Class Joseph Ferrara (Left) and Aviation Machinist Mate 1st Class Rustam T. Yapparov (Right), assigned to Patrol Squadron (VP) 5, participated in a joint clean-up event alongside Japan Maritime Self-Defense Forces (JSMDF) and local organizations at Peace Memorial Park in Okinawa, Japan. The “Mad Foxes” of VP-5, who are based out of Jacksonville, Florida, are currently deployed to Kadena Air Force Base in Okinawa, Japan. Throughout the deployment, they will be conducting maritime patrol and reconnaissance and theater outreach operations within the 7th Fleet area of operations in support of Commander, Task Force 72, C7F and U.S. Pacific Command objectives throughout the Indo-Asia Pacific region.
