Richard Snyder, governor of Michigan, visited soldiers from the Michigan National Guard here, April 17. Snyder took a tour around Camp Arifjan and stopped to talk to soldiers about the state’s current job market, college for veterans, budget cuts that affect service members, and the Michigan business taxes that will help soldiers when they return from deployment. Snyder thanked the soldiers for their support and for taking time to have open dialogue with him. With visits like these, Snyder is keeping soldiers throughout Third Army’s area of responsibility informed on their state’s progress while they are deployed.
