Honorable Richard Snyder (right), governor of Michigan, signs a hat for Capt. John D. Thompson (left), Third Army/ARCENT, Aid-de-Camp to Brig. Gen. Karen LeDoux, and Dearborn, Mich. native, during his visit here April 17. Snyder visited soldiers from the Michigan National Guard, took a tour around Camp Arifjan and stopped to talk to soldiers about the current state’s job market, college for veterans, budget cuts that affect service members, and the Michigan business taxes that will help soldiers when they return from deployment. With visits like these, Snyder is keeping soldiers throughout Third Army’s area of responsibility informed on their state’s progress while they are deployed.
