Scott Pellegrin, health and speech teacher at South Terrebonne High School, gazes at the Global War On Terrorism Memorial at National Infantry Museum in Columbus, Ga., during the U.S. Army, Baton Rouge Recruiting Battalion Education Tour at the Maneuver Center of Excellence in Fort Benning, Ga., from June 19 to June 21, 2019. The memorial includes eight granite panels engraved with the names of all service members who gave their lives in the conflict, narrative panels explaining the conflict, and murals with artwork from each service. It also includes a 13-foot steel beam from World Trade Center Tower 1, which New York City firefighters presented to Fort Benning, and nine bronze statues representing an Infantry squad. The memorial is updated every year with names of fallen heroes. (U.S. Army photo by Adam Garlington, Baton Rouge Recruiting Battalion)
