Marines from the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit exit the USS Iwo Jima on their way to visit and experience the sights and sounds of southern Spain while the ship was in port here April 19-24. During the port stop the Marines were able to get some time off to visit the towns of Rota, Puerto de Santa Maria, Cadiz, and participate in tours to destinations like Gibraltar and Seville. The 24th MEU and Iwo ARG are currently deployed as a theater reserve and crisis response force capable of a variety of missions from full-scale combat to humanitarian assistance.
