U.S. and Philippine army soldiers discuss tactics and techniques of a live-fire training course with his Armed Forces of the Philippines counterpart during Balikatan 2012, April 21, at Fort Magsaysay, Philippines. Both Armed Forces of the Philippines and U.S forces took turns through the live-fire course, and shared tactics and techniques throughout the training day. Balikatan is an annual Republic of the Philippines-U.S. military exercise focusing on field training, humanitarian assistance and a command post exercise. Additionally, it increases our armed forces' ability to respond quickly and work together efficiently to provide relief and assistance in the event of natural disasters and other crises.
