U.S. Marines with Marine Wing Support Squadron, Detachment 172, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, conduct a Helicopter Expedient Refueling System insert from CH-53E Super Stallions at Ie Shima Training Facility, Okinawa, Japan, Aug. 12, 2019. After insertion, the Marines constructed a Forward Arming and Refueling Point where they refueled a Marine Corps C-130 Hercules aircraft. The establishment of a Forward Arming and Refueling Point from amphibious shipping demonstrates naval expeditionary integration across Marine Air-Ground Task Force capabilities and warfighting domains.
