A New Zealand Army soldier, deployed with Task Group Taji 9 as a part of a quick reaction force (QRF), fires his weapon during a close-quarters range, at the Taji Military Complex, Iraq, August 16, 2019. The QRF is a high-readiness unit expected to react on short notice to a variety of scenarios ranging from vehicle accidents to insider threats. The live fire range conducted will help Australian and New Zealand soldiers refine their skills and enhance combat effectiveness under realistic conditions.
