Paul O’Connell, G-3 Staff Operations and Training Specialist, 85th U.S. Army Reserve Support Command, talks about mission planning during the New Command Teams training brief, September 21-22, 2019. Brigade command teams traveled to the 85th USARSC headquarters to learn about command relationships, medical readiness and training management within the multi-component relationship between the active component’s First Army and the U.S. Army Reserve’s 85th USARSC. The training also included breakout sessions with members of the G primary staffs. The purpose of the training was to explain some of the challenges facing the U.S. Army Reserve and to develop a common understanding between the active component and the Army Reserve.
