U.S. Marine Pfc. Zachary Garcia with Headquarters Company, Headquarters Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, hands a Marine a pamphlet during a safe driving awareness event on Camp Courtney, Okinawa, Japan, Sept. 26, 2019. Reducing driving under the influence is a priority for III Marine Expeditionary Force. In order to combat drinking and driving, III MEF and Marine Corps Installations Pacific have instituted a variety of preventative programs including: The “Not One Drop" campaign, outbound gate sobriety checks and “Liberty Buddy” requirements for junior Marines. U.S. Marines volunteered along with Okinawan locals to hand out pamphlets, good luck charms and greet the people of Uruma City. Garcia is a native of McDonough, Ga.
