Veterans of 3rd Battalion, 27th Marine Regiment place a wreath during a plaque dedication ceremony for Marines, who served in the battalion during the Vietnam War at the National Museum of the Marine Corps, Quantico, Va., Sept. 26, 2019. The battalion of more than 400 Marines and sailors were mostly support occupations. During the 206 days of combat,including Operation Allen Brook the battalion had taken over 300 casualties and over 100 fatalities. The plaque was dedicated to honor the lives lost and saved of the Marines and Sailors with 3/27 at the National Museum of the Marine Corps Memorial Walkway. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl.
