Mark Scovill escorted Davis during his visit here to meet with Marines and sailors and learn about the capabilities of the 24th MEU and the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group. The 24th MEU and Iwo Jima ARG are deployed as the U.S. Central Command theater reserve force. The group is providing support for maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. Navy's 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
