Maj. Gen. Ed Davis, the United Kingdom’s Commandant General of the Royal Marines and Commander Amphibious Forces, is welcomed aboard USS Iwo Jima during a visit, May 15, 2012, where he met with leadership of the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit and Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group, and toured the ship. The 24th MEU is deployed as part of the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group, currently a U.S. Central Command theater reserve force.
