A U.S. Army Expert Field Medical Badge qualification course cadre member pins the badge onto Sgt. Scott McDonald, a combat medic assigned to the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, during the award ceremony at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Oct. 31, 2019. The EFMB course included an Army Physical Fitness Test, a written test, day and night land navigation, three combat testing lanes and a 12-mile foot march. Candidates tested on rigorous and timed activities such as medical, warrior, chemical and casualty evacuation skills in a battlefield scenario to ensure readiness in any hostile environment.
