Students of Officer Candidate School (OCS) class 05-20, at Officer Training Command, Newport (OTCN) in Rhode Island, attaches the newly received fouled anchor pin to classmates as they reach their milestone as junior candidate officers (JOC) on Nov. 1, 2019. Receiving the fouled anchor pin signifies the class’ completion of indoctrination phase and moves onto the JOC phase where students carry more responsibilities. OCS develops civilians and fleet Sailors into newly commissioned officers morally, mentally, physically and imbue them with the highest ideals of honor, courage and commitment in order to prepare graduates for service in the fleet as Naval officers.
