SAN DIEGO (Nov. 14, 2019) Capt. Devin Morrison, Naval Medical Center San Diego's (NMCSD) executive officer, reads over blood donor information before completing a blood donor questionnaire and interview for the Armed Services Blood Program (ASBP) Nov. 14. The ASBP is a joint operation among military services that collect, process, store, distribute and transfuse blood products for service members and their families during times of peace and war. Military members are encouraged to donate blood whenever they can, as one pint of blood can save up to three lives. NMCSD's mission is to prepare service members to deploy in support of operational forces, deliver high quality healthcare services, and shape the future of military medicine through education, training and research. NMCSD employs more than 6,000 active duty military personnel, civilians and contractors in Southern California to provide patients with world-class care anytime, anywhere.
