191113-A-HZ000-1174 ARABIAN GULF (Nov. 13, 2019) Sailors launched from the coastal patrol ship USS Sirocco (PC 6) use a ridged-hull inflatable boat to provide security for Sailors, Soldiers, and Coast Guardsmen aboard a dhow boat as part of visit, board, search, and seizure operations in the Arabian Gulf. Sirocco is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
