Five U.S. Marine Corps UH-1Y Venoms with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 469, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, fly in to San Clemente Island to insert Marines with 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division during Exercise Venom Storm, Jan. 15, 2020. Exercise Venom Storm demonstrated the Venom’s versatility in providing lethal options, whether operating from the sea or land. It’s ability to rapidly deploy from ship-to-shore, support ground forces with its own organic fire support and be armed and refueled at temporary sites is unmatched. The Venom’s unique capabilities provide Joint-force commanders with an invaluable asset in a maritime contested and distributed environment. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Grace Kindred)
