Six U.S. Marine Corps UH-1Y Venoms with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 469, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, depart San Clemente Island, Calif., after extracting Marines from Exercise Venom Storm on Jan. 15, 2020. Exercise Venom Storm demonstrated the Venom’s versatility in providing lethal options, whether operating from the sea or land. It’s ability to rapidly deploy from ship-to-shore, support ground forces with its own organic fire support and be armed and refueled at temporary sites is unmatched. The Venom’s unique capabilities provide Joint-force commanders with an invaluable asset in a maritime contested and distributed environment. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Mark Lowe)
