U.S. Marines with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 469, Marine Aircraft Group (MAG) 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW) , arrive in a CH-53E Super Stallion with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 462, MAG-16, 3rd MAW, during Exercise Venom Storm for forward arming and refueling point operations on San Clemente Island, Calif., Jan. 15, 2020. Exercise Venom Storm demonstrated the UH-1Y Venom’s versatility in providing lethal options, whether operating from the sea or land. It’s ability to rapidly deploy from ship-to-shore, support ground forces with its own organic fire support and be armed and refueled at temporary sites is unmatched. The Venom’s unique capabilities provide Joint-force commanders with an invaluable asset in a maritime contested and distributed environment. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Samuel Ruiz)
