ATLANTIC OCEAN (Jan. 17, 2020) Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Equipment) Airman Lawrence Leinaar, from Norfolk, assigned to USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) air department, chains a tractor to the ship's flight deck. Ford is currently conducting Aircraft Compatibility Testing to further test its Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch Systems (EMALS) and Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG).
