ATLANTIC OCEAN (Jan. 17, 2020) Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Handling) 3rd Class Addison Williams, from Spanish Fort, Florida, assigned to USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) air department, acts as a safety observer as an E-2D Advanced Hawkeye, assigned to Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX) 20, transits across the ship's flight deck. Ford is currently conducting Aircraft Compatibility Testing to further test its Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch Systems (EMALS) and Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG).
