ATLANTIC OCEAN (Jan. 18, 2020) One of USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) advanced arresting gear (AAG) wires catches an E-2D Advanced Hawkeye, assigned to Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX) 20, on Ford's flight deck. Ford is currently conducting Aircraft Compatibility Testing to further test its Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch Systems (EMALS) and Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG).
