ATLANTIC OCEAN (Jan. 18, 2020) Chief Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Equipment) Louis Mountain Jr., from Seat Pleasant, Maryland, assigned to USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) air department, prepares to launch an E-2D Advanced Hawkeye, assigned to Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX) 20, from Ford's flight deck. Ford is currently conducting Aircraft Compatibility Testing to further test its Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch Systems (EMALS) and Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG).
