Lt. Gen. Richard T. Tryon, deputy commandant for Plans, Policies, and Operations gestures while talking with Estonia President, Toomas Hendrik Ilves during a ride in a Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement as a part of the BALTOPS-12, distinguished visitor day. Baltic Operations -12 is a combined exercise aimed at strengthen the partnerships between the United States and the Black Sea Region countries in order to maintain interoperability and theater security. The exercise is in its 40th year and 12 countries came out to participate in the largest, annual maritime exercise, during which; sailors will work side-by-side with personnel from partner nations, both on land and at sea, and will become familiar with military operating procedures and practices of participating nations.
