While liquid oxygen converters are being filled, the Flow Room’s temperature drops to below freezing. LOX is extremely cold (-297 below zero) and could cause severe burns if not handled in a safe and professional manner. The two testers who work in the Flow Room wear PPE to protect their eyes and skin from the LOX and the room is closed off to anyone not trained to perform the work while the tanks are being filled. (The photos of the room were taken from behind a window while the tanks were being filled.) (U.S. Air Force photo/Kelly White)
