Former U. S. Army Cpt. Janis Gbalah and founder of Safe Home in Pierce County, Tacoma, Wash., sits and attentively listens to updated information presented during one of the many workshops offered at the 2012 Washington Women-Veterans’ Conference at Hotel Murano, Tacoma, Wash., June 16. Gbalah also helps women veterans through a program she initiated called, “Ladies Operation Moving Forward”(LOMF). The purpose of the conference was to take a holistic approach to women veterans’ benefits. The conference promoted future growth, and prosperity within the female veteran population.
