Soldiers of the Maryland National Guard’s 110th Information Operations Battalion practice the Sprint-Drag-Carry, which is one of the six events in the new Army Combat Fitness Test, in Annapolis, Md., January 26, 2020. The SDC is a test of strength, endurance, and anaerobic capacity, which are needed to accomplish high intensity combat tasks that last from a few seconds to several minutes. The ACFT is intended to improve Soldier physical readiness, transform the culture of Army fitness, reduce preventable injuries and attrition, enhance mental strength and stamina, and contribute to increased unit readiness.
