Jon French stands for a portrait after the “Battle of the Bridge” hockey game. The Michigan Upper Peninsula Veterans Hockey Club played against the Saginaw Spirit Warriors, another all-veteran team from lower Michigan, at the Dee Stadium Houghton, Mich. on Feb. 22, 2020. Along with giving veterans a chance to experience armed forces camaraderie once again, Battle of the Bridge acts as a money-raising opportunity for the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans.
