A Blackhorse Trooper clambers onto the middle bar of the Dirty Name obstacle at the Obstacle Course at Fort Irwin, Calif., on February 25, 2020. The Spur Ride is a long-standing tradition in Cavalry units in which Troopers demonstrate physical prowess, knowledge of Cavalry history, and the ability to work as a team to earn a set of silver Spurs and be inducted into the Order of the Spur.
