A wall screen displays information, the operational picture and key news channels in the New York National Guard Joint Operations Center in Latham, N.Y. on March 18, 2020. Normally the desks would be filled with staff representatives and liasions from major commands. Because of the nature of the COVID-19 situation the center is being minimally staffed.The Joint Operations Center, or JOC, serves as the central clearing point for operational information to allow Major General Ray Shields, the Adjutant General of New York, to control the response as the force assists in New York State efforts to control the COVID-19 pandemic in New York.
