200331-N-MA259-1004 SASEBO, Japan (March 31, 2020) Steelworker 2nd Class Douglas Dooley, assists Builder 2nd Class Nicholas Gould, both deployed with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5’s Detail Sasebo, with obtaining proper elevation with the Philadelphia rod at the two pre-engineered buildings construction site for Naval Beach Unit (NBU) 7, Yokose, Japan. This project will provide NBU-7 a place to store and maintain their equipment, preventing equipment deterioration and increasing their lethality within the region. NMCB-5 is deployed across the Indo-Pacific region conducting high-quality construction to support U.S. and partner nations to strengthen partnerships, deter aggression, and enable expeditionary logistics and naval power projection.
