200402-N-MA259-1007 SASEBO, Japan (April 2, 2020) Construction Electrician 2nd Class Brandon Rivera, deployed with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5’s Detail Sasebo, compacts subgrade soil before backfilling at the two pre-engineered buildings construction site for Naval Beach Unit (NBU) 7, Yokose, Japan. This project will provide NBU-7 a place to store and maintain their equipment, preventing equipment deterioration and increasing their lethality within the region. NMCB-5 is deployed across the Indo-Pacific region conducting high-quality construction to support U.S. and partner nations to strengthen partnerships, deter aggression, and enable expeditionary logistics and naval power projection.
