200402 N-ZW591-1030 SASEBO, Japan (April 2, 2020) Builder 3rd Class Lawrence Spears, from Houston, deployed with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5’s Detail Sasebo, uses an excavator with a concreate breaker attachment to remove concreate at the two pre-engineered buildings construction site for Naval Beach Unit (NBU) 7, Yokose, Japan. This project will provide NBU-7 a place to store and maintain their equipment, preventing equipment deterioration and increasing their lethality within the region. NMCB-5 is deployed across the Indo-Pacific region conducting high-quality construction to support U.S. and partner nations to strengthen partnerships, deter aggression, and enable expeditionary logistics and naval power projection.
