Staff Sgt. Brian Swomley of Phoenixville, Pa., a motor transpiration operator with the 213th Regional Support Group, 228th Transportation Battalion, 131st Transportation Company, picks up shelf stable meals to be loaded on a M915 military truck at a warehouse in Harrisburg on April 8, 2020. The meals will be delivered to various food distribution centers throughout the commonwealth. Pennsylvania National Guard transportation units are assisting the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services in the delivery of meals to a various distribution centers across the commonwealth. These meals, as many as 25,000 a day, will resupply county emergency management agencies, senior citizen centers, food banks and other charitable organizations. “This is what I signed up for in 1996 to be part of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and help my fellow citizens in the state,” said Swomley. As a civilian, Swomley is the director of operations for Springboard Media in Philadelphia.
