Medical professionals with Expeditionary Medical Facility-M gather as Baton Rouge, La., native Col. Jeff Mitchell, state chaplain for the Louisiana National Guard, conducts a Blessing of the Hands ceremony at Baton Rouge General Mid City campus May 6, 2020. The ceremony is a hospital tradition practiced around the world in honor of the annually recognized Nurses Week held from May 6 - 12. EMF-M coordinates closely with state, local, and public health authorities to ensure the well-being of their personnel and the local population. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency for the whole-of-nation COVID-19 response.
