Barstow, California residents and Veterans Home of California-Barstow clients, gather in front of the Veterans Home to watch a massive line of vehicles file past on Memorial Day, May 25. The 24-year-old facility houses 200 Veterans in various stages of medical care. Ordinarily, Memorial Day is when American military personnel whom have died in battle are honored with military cemetery ceremonies and speeches from local notables, but COVID-19 pandemic restrictions have temporarily halted large, static gatherings.
