The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Harmful Algal Bloom Interception, Treatment, and Transformation System (HABITATS) team is studying the performance and scalability of HABITATS at pilot scale to accelerate its development into a response tool for dynamic HAB situations. The dissolved air flotation jar tester helps to identify optimal chemical concentrations and mixing times for dissolved air flotation prior to and throughout the pilot scale operations.
