Sgt. 1st Class Elmer Mayhew and Sgt. Jared Fossek salute the 34th Combat Aviation Brigade commander, Col. Greg Fix, after being presented the Purple Heart medal on August 31, 2020, at Camp Buehring, Kuwait. Both Soldiers received this distinction for their injuries sustained during rocket attacks on March 14, 2020, while stationed at Camp Taji, Iraq with Delta Company, 1-189th General Support Aviation Battalion, Montana National Guard.
