Marines with Combat Logistics Battalion 13, Combat Logistics Regiment 17, 1st Marine Logistics Group, prepare to load a simulated casualty onto a CH-46E “Sea Knight” belonging to Marine Medium Helicopter Training Squadron 164 during mass casualty evacuation training aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, July 12, 2012. Marines and Sailors provided field medical aid fundamentals to treat simulated injuries and prepared the role players for extraction. For more than a week, CLB-13 practiced providing humanitarian assistance, mass casualty evacuation, and noncombatant evacuation operations in preparation for next year’s deployment with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit.
