The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is working in partnership with the local, state, and federal response to Hurricane Sally. Jackson County EOC personnel arrive early to receive the Jacksonville Districts team with sand bagging operation as high-water levels threatened Jackson County Residents. Jackson County inmates assist with bagging operations inmates filled approximately 1500 bags with sand. Under Public Law 84-99 (Flood Control and Coastal Emergencies), USACE provides disaster preparedness services and advanced planning measures designed to reduce the amount of damage caused by an impending disaster.
