Through Operation Mega Flex, CBP personnel in Chicago, Indianapolis, and elsewhere have seized multiple shipments of Lianhua Qingwen Jiaonang pills in parcels from China. The pills are claimed to fight COVID-19, but they are not FDA-approved. Operation Mega Flex is a CBP-led, interagency initiative to identify and interdict illicit shipments in the international mail and express consignment environments through period enhanced inspections. Mega Flex seizures have included counterfeit goods, illegal narcotics, fake identity documents, prohibited plant and animal products, and other items that threaten the health and safety of consumers, undermine the competitiveness of U.S. businesses, and put U.S. agriculture and the environment at risk.
