U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (CERL), mechanical engineer and project lead for the Additive Construction Program and 3D Printing Megan Kreiger briefs the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Installations, Energy and Environment Bryan Gossage from inside the 3D printed Barracks Hut at the ERDC, Forward Operating Base-Laboratory in Champaign, Ill., Oct. 30, 2020. The unique shape of the 3D printed walls and ceiling in the hut can withstand blasts/pressure, is stronger and can support more weight than conventional-type structures. The 3D printed concrete B-Hut reduces work hours, is more cost effective and saves valuable resources. (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers photo)
