U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (CERL), material engineer and Operational Water project lead Dr. Martin Page briefs the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Installations, Energy and Environment Bryan Gossage at the ERDC Forward Operating Base-Laboratory in Champaign, Ill., Oct. 30, 2020. Page explained the difficulties that deployed service members have with sustaining clean drinking water and water used for showers or laundry facilities. The CERL team, with collaboration with industry partners, has developed several water treatment and reuse technologies and systems to turn gray and black water into a new potable or near-potable water source.
